About
She Breathes Fire dismantles patriarchal systems and toxic gender binaries by recontextualizing the Hero's Journey through a feminist lens. Stacy has created a fantasy world of her own imagination that explores the heroine's journey throughout many ages, characters and landscapes. The concept for the project was created while she attended the ArtHouse Holland residency in the Netherlands in October 2022. The project offers its own folkloric tale seen through the eyes of women and provides an alternative history that is in stark comparison to the heroism society has internalized.
